In '71, what had been the C/10, became the Custom. It had painted bumpers and hubcaps, no chrome trim in the windshield and back glass mouldings; Vent window frames and pillars were flat black; you could order upper and lower body side mouldings, but you couldn't get the bright trim on the tailgate or around the tail lights. The lower body trim should have a black painted insert.
What had been the Custom/10, became the Custom Deluxe. It came standard with white painted front bumper, hubcaps and wheels. If it had the upper/lower side mouldings, the lower had a woodgrain insert. Also, the tailgate had upper/lower bright trim, as did the tailights. The seat was vinyl, as were the door panels, arm rests and sun visors.
The CST of previous years, was replaced by the new Cheyenne trim package. It got a combo nylon/vinyl upholstery, special door panels, headliner. It came standard with the upper side moulding, and bright trim on the cab, tailgate, and around the tailights. In addition, it had the cargo light. If it had the lower bodyside mouldings, they had woodgrain inserts, as did the trim on the tailgate. Bucket seats were optional, if the interior was spec'd in vinyl.
Mid-year, the Cheyenne Super was introduced. It had everything that the Cheyenne had, but added both upper and lower side trim (with woodgrain), and chrome tailgate release.
Custom Appearance group, as well as Custom Comfort and Appearance groups, were available.
On Cheyennes, the body color between the upper/lower bodyside mouldings, was usually painted white.
If the truck was two-toned, the top was usually white, too, in addition to the sides.

In '72, the big change was the inside door panels/arm rests, and the Highlander trim package was introduced.

Does this help???
