I'm going to do more thinking on this before I scrap the idea. Would be great to have a chassis swap without having to touch it at all (to an extent) and only have to deal with the body. But like was said...probably good reason it hasn't been done.
well i am not trying to discourage you, in fact I love weirdy out-of-the-box stuff. so if you do this, i will be a constant watcher and commenter in your project thread.

but there was a south park a long time ago about the underpants gnomes, where step 1 was collect underpants, step 2 was ???? and step 3 was profit. a lot of times thinking about a build is like that, step 1 is get a tahoe step 2 is ???? and step 3 is drive and enjoy. its the ???? that was the most important, in the episode and with the truck, and you are on your way to a real project by at least asking questions up front. lots of projects are for sale shortly after starting because they dont really turn out like the photoshop rendering, and i dont mean finished projects, I mean pretty immediately its clear its not going to work and without a plan to address it, they punt.

widening fenders may be all you need! or maybe not. the good thing is that you have the problem to solve now before you bought the donors! maybe someone else here has done that as well.

now that I think of it there was a guy here who did a 47-53 on an aviator chassis, which is basically an awd explorer. another one to search up. most guys here would plotz about a ford chassis drivetrain in a chevy, but build what ever you want. I recently got a low mile grand marquis 4.6 and I will be darned if the wheelbase and track width isnt just perfect for my 56 big window chevy. my brother the chevy guy almost threw up when I told him what I was thinking, but he donest have to drive it or even ride in it. yee-haw weirdys.
