GM did an AD suburban on a TBSS chassis that turned out pretty cool. They didn’t widen the fenders for that. Also, I wouldn’t worry about the torsion bars on the 4wd S-10 chassis. It’s pretty easy to do a coil over setup on those. And since they have a more normal control arm orientation, rack and pinion steering isnt too terrible of a job. Then you could run an uncut core support.
