That is fine but what I am saying is put that on the bottom of your list of need to do things.
Putting a new cable in and swapping the brackets is a 30 minute project that can be done sometime when you come up with the bracket, it is by no means a must do now thing. Don't let it be a worry thing when you have far more important things to take care of. If you have a list of 50 things to do on the truck that is number 50. Totally unimportant except for the reason you said in post 11.
Hang in there and don't get excited about it and you will spot one on an old carb at a swap meet, someone will find one on a carb on an engine they are getting ready to scrap or spot one on the truck that they are doing a frame swap on and remember that you need one and send you a PM. They aren't hard to find and they aren't worth anything dollar wise.
