Good question. I'm running an ABS headliner that holds 4 speakers and covers the whole headliner area. I drilled a 3/4" hole to run the wires through, and while banging around up there, I noticed how hollow it sounded and thought I should do something about it.
I had used the canned expanded foam called Great Stuff on several projects around the house, so I had some handy. I shot some through that hole, then got a longer tube and pushed it up through the openings at the back of the cab into the front, middle and sides. It held a couple of cans of the minimal-expanding foam. They also have a version that expands a lot more, but I was afraid it might ooze out somewhere I didn't want it.
It made a big difference, and cost about 12 bucks. Now if the floors and doors were that easy...SSOW
