Eastwood has both covered as I just bought two cans of engine paint in "Detroit Diesel Alpine green", great marketing huh? Also I have been tumbling the nuts and bolts, small parts and the brackets, when degreased and tumbled do show evidence of green.
Well thanks again and stand by for my next question.

Well , sort of. 1966 is the first year the 327 was offered in a C10 . 1964 started late in the year offering 327s in C20 and followed with 1965 and 1966 in C20. The actual color name from GM was just "green" engine enamel. I have a NOS can or two of that paint. Alpine and Detroit Diesel green have been found to be too light of a color , but thats about all that is available in a spray can. Heres some more links . First page doesn't get very factual, till about page three but there's lots of pictures showing the real color after that.
