I have had mixed luck with both but the stock sheet metal is usually heavier and fits much better. There are some very reliable vendors on here that have very nice original, clean and "rust free" sheet metal at fair prices. Go to the Parts board and ask for what you need...they will respond. Don't be afraid to ask for references either. I can personally vouch for PICKMUP and WES in the Pacific Northwest.
