Bill, I have found that gas smells inside the cab can come from many sources. The first place I would look is at your fuel line leading into the carb. I darn near killed myself and family because of that. I smelled gas in the cab on that one all the way home from Monroe swap meet. I thought that it was the sending unit seal, seal for the pin that you connect the sending unit wire to, or leaking out the gas cap and the gas following the filler neck into the cab. Turned out to be a broken fuel line leading into the carb. Next, I would check around your filler neck. If your cap is leaking and following the neck back into the cab, you will see evidence of it. Then if that doesn't seam to be the problem, then check the sending unit. There are 2 seals to check there. One is the big "O" ring that seals the unit to the tank, and the other seals the pin that your sending unit wire plugs into. There will be a little nut that you can tighten if that is leaking. Sometimes you get lucky on that, but sometimes you dont. If you tighten the nut too tight you may ground the pin out on the sending unit and it needs to be isolated from it. Good luck.
