I did not weld mine but I did put a massive amount of sealer adhesive around the seam then screwed it down with stock screws. Its not going anywhere for a while but I figured if I ever needed to get it out i could but it would take a little effort. Saved on welding time and the permanent nature of welding if I did need to get it out. the clued down the deadener and carpet etc.
