Are these the ones you installed? From your description it sure sounds like the same ones I installed on my 72 C10 with stock 350 and rams manifolds and added an H-Pipe with them. Noticeable power pulling away from the muffler shop after install and I agree nice mellow tone and wake up when you walk on the truck.
