That's fine, you can get get brighter lights that still have a good beam pattern and no cut off. The problem is when the lights are poorly engineered (read cheap), they can become more problematic for oncoming traffic.
Lights that are 1000+ Lux with a poor beam pattern and no cutoff are not just annoying to everyone else, they are dangerous.
Don't be that person.
