1 ton is not just heavier. the whole rear clip is different.
1/2 and 3/4 ton shocks go between springs and frame.
1 ton shocks are inside the frame, not enough room between springs and frame.

Ok that aside I dont think I will have as much sheetmetal hacking on the front since the newer frame is actually much more narrow from the cab forward. Hoping it will just be rad support and inner fenders. The gmc rad support is actually much smaller than the chevy inn this year and actually looks like it was stolen from the 48 to 55.1 trucks.
