Other than the obvious lack of over drive, any reason to discount the SM465/Np205 combo? They are a very stout unit. That 383 isn’t going to hurt it. The 4500 is a good one too, I would want a 205 behind it as well just because of how strong they are. A 4500 with factory GM transfer case isn’t going to work in a 67-72 because from the factory the transfer case front output drops on the wrong side. A transfer case swap will be necessary on a 4500.
