Mudder I just went out and measured. I have 3 inches from radiator to front of fan and 5 inches to 2/3 thickness of fan, leaving about 1/3 of the rear of the fan behind the shroud. I think this would work. I also checked my 71 driver and it has the 5 inch shroud also, but with the short water pump setup. and the fan is almost totally behind the shroud.
