Re: After market tailgate

Stepside - Mar-K
Fleetside - Keyparts

Just my opinion.

A nice rust free GM fleetside tailgate will run you $400-600 on up. And they are not easy to find. These trucks were used on farms and work trucks back in rhe day and the tailgate was the first thing to go. They get scratched, dented up, and especially in your area I bet it is rare to see a nice one. I just paid $550 for a super nice 67 early takeoff gate, and I was happy to get it. I have seen the crazy nice GM original paint ones up closer to $1k.

If it's a high end build I'd say be patient and a nice GM gate will show up. If it's just a nice driver you'll be proud to own and take to local shows I'd say you'll be happy with a Keyparts repro. Check out gmcpauls.com. They are a vendor here on the board too, they'll get one for you if they are available.
