there is a spring that the pin holds on and creates tension to keep the pedal from drooping straight up and down. it is a pretty light spring. you might check under the seat or floormats for it. a buddy of mine had the same problem you are talking about, not full throttle. he bent the steel rod up so it was more of an L shape. it worked for him, but check it out first. i think he had a He11 of a time bending the rod. i guess it is pretty hard.
