Let's see you have a Nova that weighs considerably less than the truck. You want to put in a heavier and smaller (by cubic inches) engine in your nova...it doesn't make sense...396 by today's standards of big block sizes is small. Your small block should easily outperform and weigh less than your 396 big block. If you are serious about building a big block...build a BIG BLOCK---something no less than 427/454 cubes---you should be able to make a ton of power and put it in your truck---they need the extra power....thats what I was getting at.
