Re: Universal AC evaporator

I have a vintage air kit in my K5. I paid $1600+ for it since it was supposed to be "the best". But I'll never do another under dash AC again. The fan is extremely obnoxious at anything above 40% speed. I already have headsets and an intercom in this truck for highway driving with the 6.2 and huge mud tires, and I wear the headsets anytime the AC is set above 40-50%. In a truck without headsets I just wouldn't use the AC, or I'd drive something else.

I'd expect any under dash AC to be at least as loud as the vintage air, or if it's quieter it probably won't move enough air to do anything.

When I do AC in my c30 pickup and c3 Corvette they are going to be factory style systems with all new components. No other way to do it IMO, and the cost is basically the same as a decent aftermarket kit anyway.
