the style bulb joedoh linked works best if the projector end faces oncoming traffic. The socket location inside the shallow park housing is something like 45 degrees, so to get best results you probably need to make the housing deeper so you can aim that LED properly.

Or find a amber/white SMD LED panel in the right dimensions and a reliable driver circuit

Or solder on the new socket, stick a bulb in it and call it done for now .....
