If you're a slow learner like me and you loose both plates in the door (In my defense neither plate fell off until I shut the doors and I didn't put 2 and 2 together together after the 2nd clunk when I shut the doors.  )
Anyway post 257 in the link shows how I got my mirrors installed without help. I only wish I would have thought to put a dab of something sticky on the plate so next time the mirror has to come off the plate will stay put.
