Wanting to restore grille trim for mid 1980's Chevy

Over the years I have accumulated quite a few parts for the mid 1980's grille trim. In fact, one of the bow tie emblems in the pictures is marked on the back from the pull and save I got it from. The date is 7-18-06. Only an old pack rat like me would keep it this long, and that is after moving three times in that period. I want restore the bow tie emblems. Being right on the front of the truck, they get a lot of road rash. I should be able to sand out the marks back to a nice flat surface. Then I expect two problems. First, I expect the gold anodized color to be depleted, so I will need to fix that. Second, like much of the trim on these trucks the finish is not really polished, it is what I call "brushed". Any experience you have or can suggest would be appreciated.
At least they are not expensive and it's not a disaster if I make one or more worse. Thanks PS, the bowties are not as good as the first picture makes them look and probably not as bad as the second one. Also, have any of you used any commercial tape to restore the longer pieces?
