As for the write up, I wish I was able to write like that all the time.
But people on forums have become so lazy, you only have to look at the volume of replies, comments on here compared to the views on this thread, so the ratio of “My reward” vs “My effort/input” makes it a discouraging thing.

MOT is a good thing, makes the car sellable, and also of course legally usable on the roads as you can insure and tax it.
