I have seen it done this way before on the forum but I was just afraid of messing up the front edge of the bed. I have been doing this by myself and I think this is a pretty good way for me to reach everything and I can make any adjustments as needed. I had everything pre-fitted before I tore it down and finished the wood. I'm hoping it hasn't moved much or at all. Right now I am just about ready for assembly. I have one cross sill that I need to work on first.
