After much agonizing have decided to modify this truck with updated 327 engine, A/C, and update to disc front and rear. My objective is ride quality and highway friendly gearing/rpms. I have decided to retain 8 lug with H052 rear and turbo 400 with overdrive.
I am currently working on the rear end, brakes and suspension. I decided to retain the stock H052 rear and convert to disc. Pictures are attached.
I am have refinished the stock overload springs. I bought a disc brake conversion kit and have welded brackets for the brake lines to the brackets and spindles.
