That sounds like the crap I've run into from various machinery, truck, automobile, and small engine parts sellers. This includes some well known outfits that have changed hands in the last 5-10 years.

In-stock doesn't mean it's actually in their possession anymore. Delaying the delivery date past 30 days is a big red flag. They're trying to run out the clock on your ability to dispute the charges with your bank.

You can weld an O2 sensor bung into a steel diff cover at the correct height. I've done that with transmission pans as well. There are a couple BMW models that use an 18mm plug in the diff and transmission.
