My '77 suburban did not come with a 3rd row seat or the mounts for it. So I found a doner suburban that had the pockets with the bars in them in the floor. I cut out those sections of floor and welded them into my '77. The seat snaps down and with the lift of a lever comes out.
I don't know why that wouldn't work in one of our blazers. I'm not sure if the width of the 73-87 rear seats is too big. Might be worth checking out.
