I think under hood insulation prolly needs to be something that will withstand heat and be compatable with petroleum products, degreasers and the like. I have seen a few guys who have used the hot water tank insulation kits on the underside of their hoods but mostly those were newer trucks that have the sub structure under there so the insulation was held on with the plastic push pins. newer vehicles use the formed fiberglass stuffbut you won't find anything thats gonna fit a classic hood. are you trying for sound insulation, heat, simply to cover the underside or some other reason?
