I made a floor from steel diamondplate. I'd say it will be in the truck long after I'm dead and buried... no matter how much abuse it gets. For a stepside, it's an easy task to have a steel supplier cut it to size and you just toss it in there. For the fleetside there's a little more work, but nothing that should take too much effort.
