I had to replace the second cat in my Tacoma because of the P0420 code . Used to be able to clear it and drive it till it reset then inspect the truck. This time it would throw the code as soon as it reset. My 12 Nissan has one of these in it . No visual inspection of components here just plug it in and if it passes your good to go
