Naw, that sounds like pretty good advice, the only reason I went with a plastic filter was because that's the only filter I had in 5/16" size.
I could probably squeeze a 3/8" metal filter in there...maybe.
I've never tried using anything other than rubber hose connections ever so I'm hesitant to experiment with anything else.
I might regret that hesitation eventually though.
