haft to disagree with that
if you understand fuel, efi is more reliable, less maintenance, more accurate fuel metering, cleaner burning, better throttle response and the engine itself will last longer as a result of less fuel dilution of oil and less washing of the cylinder walls. Those are facts, taking a significant step backwards using a carb instead of a well operating fuel injection system. would only use a carb now for a period correct build or just to get a project running.
my crewcab came with a quadrajet stock that i replaced with a performer intake and holley 750, and then for the last 20 yrs with a pro-flo fi.
fi starts waaaay better than a carbed vehicle, just reach in and turn the key and it fires right up and idles just like a newer truck, no choking, no throttle pumping, no stalling, no re-starting...and in cold weather a carb doesn't even compare to starting a fi engine. living in the mountains i have no issues either, runs just as good at 8000 ft as it does at 1000 ft-everyday driveability is vastly improved, and vapor lock and fuel starvation is a thing of the past.
same truck, 2 carbed versions, 1 fi version, never convince me a carb is superior...
did i mention reliable? in 20 yrs i have only replaced 1 fuel pump and 1 MAP sensor, less than $200
