I remember when I got my 1st CDL licenses.
I was working for a Caterpillar dealer.
The 1st truck did not pass the air brake inspection.
I hit the brake pedal and the gauge lost to much psi for the instructor to use this truck for the test.
They let me drive it back with the brake issue and no CDL.


Then round 2

I brought a 1970 something GMC (Probably) C60 with a 2 speed rear axle and a 13 speed Transmission.
The Lady let me pass the driving test.
But she made the comment that I need to learn to keep both hands on the steering wheel.
I am glad she was nice about the way she said it.
Or I might have told her, You try to drive a 13 speed with a 2 speed axle around a city block and shift gears so it would not take us all afternoon to get back with both hands on the wheel.
