for what use you described, they will be fine. might need replaced a tad more often than a stock truck, but they should be ok (unless you are running an insane motor and have a lead foot
).
fyi, all GM 1 ton front axles (dana 60's) had kingpins instead of balljoints. much more durable, but would be overkill in your scenario.
