I would push to make sure they were charged with lying to the officer,( making false report)
and even try to get them fired from their job. I would call the station and suggest they send that officer back to school to get some retraining as from what you have said about the only thing I think this officer could catch is a cold. I would also make them pay thru the nose to get the truck fixed. It just pisses me off that people in these type of positiions try and use their standing to get out of things they do wrong.
