I went through the spring thing and here is what I found. In the rear 3/4 ton worked the best. HD 3/4 ton were way to firm and the truck sat about 3/4 of an inch lower than the standerd 3/4 ton springs. The variable rat springs sat the lowest. Thank God they took back all the springs I didnt want. For the front I used BB springs which is the same as HD springs. At the time I had a 307 and the truck was almost level. It road good but seemed like it could use some weight up front. When I put the 402 in it didnt change the ride hight in the front. still sat almost level. I just made 1/2 inch spacers for the rear springs. Gave the truck a little more rake. I might add another 1/2 inch.
