Just something to think about. If you are looking to swap engine and trans and not mess with changing the rear end. 47-mid 50's trucks came with a torque tube rear that has the drive shaft enclosed so it will not bolt up to the trans unless it is another one of that type of design which will give you ridiculous RPM at high speeds. IF you go with that year truck you have to 1. keep it original, 2. Swap, engine, trans, AND rear end, or 3. Buy one already done like tommo has. Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide.
