I'm not sure what your concerns are about C-notching your ride. If done properly it won't effect the integrity of the frame. If it's done well, it might even make the frame stiffer.
My Blazer is an 82 so the frame is different from yours in the rear. Regardless I wanted to show you how it's notched. The notch allows the rear end to go within 1" of the floor pan. It's as low as you can go "without" cutting the floor pan.
You can step-notch the rear and cut the floor too. If your concerned with still using the rear seat, just keep the step-notch small.....
