Like previously stated you'll want to think about corrosion protection if you clean those bolts. Stainless is the way I'm going but Eastwood has some kits to Tin-Zinc plate or OEM type "blackening" kits that may be a option for you. If you go to the local home supply/hardware store you can pick up cheaper Grade 5 SS hardware. Just carry a magnet with you. If it sticks it is low quality and should probably pass on it.
