Longhorn - I just finished reading your article. Excellent info but I'm still in the same boat - I purchased my new wheel off ebay, I thought it included the donor slip ring but didin't so I need a slip ring and the small wire that attaches to the horn button. The new wheel is identical to the one in your first photo. The wrecking yards (that I've found) around where I live don't want to mess with ya for small stuff and they don't allow you to pull your own. I'm new to the area so I'm still searching for more yards.
