Yeah, you need to find the other junk yards. i've been in the same boat before, and it really blows.
You need to use the slip ring that is original to your column. If you use the late model one then your steering shaft will not be supported properly becouse the bearing rides on the slip ring on the stock truck set up.

As for the horn wire. You can install the wheel and slip ring now, and when you get your hands on a horn wire, you can pop off the horn cap and install the assembly into the slip ring. Needle nose pliers help on this, but it can be done by hand onless you have chubby fingers.
