If you are going to only have 1 socket I'm with Rocknrod, keep the lighter outlet as its more universal. You can always plug in an adapter to go to usb but not the other way around and there are still a ton of items that use a standard lighter socket style plug.

I have been debating putting both styles in my truck since the GMC dash has two pre cut holes near the glove box that would be decent spot for them.
