My thoughts are get some old panels from a pick and pull no matter the condition and buy a can of the USA 1 color you need and try it... the most you will spend maybe 40.00 (20 for the paint and 20 for the door). If it does what you want then the 20 for the paint is not wasted.
I know you said you would not order from USA1 again, but I have had really good luck with my orders coming in on time. The Paint should not be an issue.
I am getting ready to do just that to some dark color A Pillar post and cover them in the Mystic which was the interior upper color on 84 - 86 Blazer's ... I will post some pictures on my efforts. Probably in a week ...
