Don't forget, GM founded EMD, one of the largest manufacturers of diesel-electric railroad locomotives. This particular locomotive is an FP45 from 1967. It has a turbocharged 20 cylinder EMD 654 diesel of 3,600 h.p.. These engines are similar to Detroits in that they are 2 stroke, and the '654' designation stands for the cubic inch displacement of one cylinder! I volunteer at that museum, and have had the pleasure of not only working on that particular locomotive (it is currently being restored) but operating it as well.
