I don't know what year it was--company rig--but I'd guess early 'eighties by the cab, though it had a later model fiberglass tilt-nose on it. It had a 6V92 and a five and four. I think the transmission came from an older truck, as did the pad suspension.

It had a stretch frame and three axles, though the steer was set-back, and it rode like a punch to the kidney. No a/c, hotter than all get out in summer, and a rattle-trap.

I learned a lot about trucking in that old thing, and when I finally moved up into a then-new Freightliner FLD, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

Nowadays, I miss the old girl, though I miss a lot about trucking in the 'nineties. Nowadays, there's not much fun in it.
