the trianry switch is designed to protect the AC circuit from over (or under) pressure in the refrigerant system.
The first thing it does is turn the fan on to cool the condensor and drop the pressure, if that doesn't happen, it will shut off the compressor when the pressure reaches the limit.
(you may already know all this)

87(or 87A) to 30 should be the main power circuit for the fan
87 can be constant or switched either one....mine is wired for constant 12V
again 85 and 86 are the trigger connections, and don't need a specific polarity to work.
