Re: '50 3600 re-do. Shortening things up!
Back at it again. Not optimistic about the condition of the 6.0 with the piston grenading so as a back up I bought a complete running 5.3 for $400 bones. I can sell the accessories and make that back. Not planning anything crazy, maybe. mild cam. Also thinking about sealing the Fitech and either using the stock intake or switching to a Holley Sniper carb for the old school look.

Started tearing it down & it looks pretty decent, cleaned up the carbon build up from the pistons but the cylinders look good. I’ll scavenge the cam from the 6.0.

Good buy on the 5.3.

interested to see how the parts look when the bottom end is apart, see how bad the piston skirts look etc.

Started tearing into the 6.0. The plot thickens! Don’t know what this cylinder is going to look like but sure it won’t be good.🥺

It gets worse the further I tear into it. The head is destroyed, deep gouges I the cylinder wall. $$$ down the drain.😡😡🤬

No. It is/was a new build still wrapped on the pallet, but since I wasn’t the original buyer, the warranty was non transferable. I’ll try to get a better pic of the cylinder. In the meantime, here’s the rest os the mess left in the tray.

At least, t was able to salvage th cam, lifters & pushrods. I was hesitant about the oil pump but the screen on the pickup tube kept fragments from getting into it so I reused that as well.
