Re: 409 V-8 for Medium Duty Trucks?

The 'truck' 409 was introduced in 1962 C and M series conventionals, L series short conventionals, and T series tilt cabs. Last year for the 409 'truck' was 1965, in 1966 it was replaced by the tall deck 366. In 1966 Chevy started selling GMC H and J series trucks, and the only gasoline engines available in those models was the GMC 401 and 478 V-6's. Starting in '66 the Chevy tilt cab was also available with the larger GMC V-6's. In '66 and '67 the largest Chevy V-8 available in commercial trucks was the 366.
