Well according to my engine builder buddy in CA, he plans on starting the engine this week and letting it burn in for a while to ensure no valve tapping or leaks. But the following week my wife and I are out of town for the week in Las Vegas, so I don't want him to ship until we are ready to come back home.
Conceivably, I could have it in my shop before Labor Day BUT, isn't there always a but. He is trying to find a way to shorten the shaft on my magneto, he doesn't like how tall it is and fear that it will walk around under load.
Attached is a picture of the magneto and the shaft that has a tach generator that I don't need with electronic gauges. But in total the shaft when assembled on the magneto stands tall. He is trying to fabricate a shaft from an old distributor and a sleeve to hold the mag. Once he has that figured out, then the engine can be started.
