Heater assembly diagram.
I'm looking for a diagram for the deluxe heater assembly. I have the parts manual for 55 to 59 GMC but the heater assembly is not listed in it. Chevy and GMC should be the same thing. Does anyone have a copy of it?

here are a couple pics of the fancy heater. it draws outside air from the square hole in the cowl above the footwell vent. I sold this unit to a fella here who was very exited to get it. it worked fine and there were no leaks or strange noises. there is also a fancy heater control cluster somewhere in my old truck parts but that is another day of searching through boxes, not pics I thought I had tucked away. hope this helps you some.

Do you have the custom heater? Honestly, if you don't have the original larger heater and want a little more you could look for an aux bus heater or a universal style unit and adapt that to fit and have more heat output than stock. The stock heaters generally weren't made for the higher system pressures of more modern cooling systems.

I have everything I need for the factory deluxe heater except the sheetmetal piece that bolts to the cab and the control cables.
My original cab had the deluxe heater that was rusted beyond repair and I must have not saved the flange that screws to the cab for it. |

I bet that part could be fabled up easily enough. There is a rubber seal that goes between I think but that looks like a section of tire inner tube, possibly a wheel barrow or hand dolly size tire tube.

You have to know what it should look like to be able to fab something though. Maybe someone on here who has taken a non working heater like that out to put AC in still has all the pieces in the shed and is willing to offer them up.

getting a used one would be great.
As far as fabbing one up its really not much more than a sheetmetal piece of angle folded to create a box. |
