Check the wires under the driver's door jab. Years of vibration, small rocks and such can wear through the wires and break them. Or create a short and blow the related fuse.

pull the sil plate in the bottom of door opening? which fuse controls these lights??

I put a volt meter on the light and was getting .3 volts at the light.

Yes. I had a dome light fail in a past vehicle and the cause was a hole in one of the wires under the plate.

Not sure on which fuse. One that is hot all the time.

Should have 12V. As kwmech mentioned, light is hot all the time and the door switches close to ground when the door opens.
